Today in Spain, we voted our president. At the moment, we don't know the results.
Sincerenly, I hate the policy, because I never have understood or believed in our parties. I want to win a separatist political party and we can overcome the crisis or at least improve the economic situation of the country.

Tomorrow we will know if Catalonia in the future could be a country. Also, here in Catalonia there are many people willing to fight for the independence of Catalonia and the Catalans want to be respected and free.

OBAMA

Usa President Barack Obama accompained with his family celebrated his victory for his second term president of the USA.

He had a very difficult race against Mltt Romney but the latest finally fail and Obama came back to the white house for four more years.

He had the votes of the states of New Hamshire, Michigan, New Mexico, Iowa, Virginia, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Mimesota Ohio and so on.

Obama thanked every American who voted. He finished his speech with his words "Whether I earned your vote or not, I have listened to you, I have learned from you and you have made me a better president"

THANKSGIVING DAY

Thanksgiving day was celebrate last thursday in the USA.

Thanksgiving day is a national holiday celebrated in the united states. It is celebrated the fouth Thursday of november. All families meet together in order to thank God for all the food and goods they have. They usually cook a turkey with baked potatoes and pumpkin pie for dessert.

For some people it also means the start of Chirstmas as Christmas is coming soon. It's a public holiday and so people don't go to work, children don't have school and shops are closed that day.

We can trance this historic American tradition to the year 1623. After the harvest crops yhe Governor William Bradford of the plymounth plantation in Massachusets proclaimed that all people should meet and render Thanksgiving to God for all his blessing.

THE FILM "LO IMPOSIBLE"

This year has been released a movie in the cinemas. Her name is "Lo Imposible". This film has beaten the record for ticket sales and outperform the movie Avatar.

This film is based on a real history about the famous tsunami in Tailandia. This family is spanish. They want to travel in Tailandia, but two days after arrived there tsunami ocurred. The film explian how this family survives as before the disaster. Luckily, all family get to survive and come back to her house.

I can see this film and I can say that is better than Avatar. This film is very well achieved and I think that the movie director will get a lot of awards. As well as this is spanish film. This affect to our conutry because we can get more prestige in the world of cinema.

CAVA IS A CHOICE IN EUROPE

The popularity of Cava has significantly increased in the past decade in European markets: 150 millions bottles of Cava were exported last year, a record for Cava producers, with Germany and the United Kingdom being the main importers. Acording to experts, it seems that being a non-expensive product compared to Champagne is also an advantage in times os economic crisis.

I think about this notice that nowadays people buy those products that are very cheap because her economi don't allow to buy luxury products or things. People I say that the world is very bad as ill.

THREE SMALL GIRLS

Roser Capdevila created The Triplets (Les Tres Bessones) based on her own daughters. These cartoons dubbled into 33 languages and shown in 158 differents countries,

The production company built the big success of "Les tres Bessones" is Cromosoma. Now, is one of the most important companies in the catalan entertainment industry.

One of the most big successfull work was a documentary called Bicycle, Spoon, Apple. This documentary based on Alzheimer disease was protagonized by charaterized Pasqual Margall.


I think the catalan entertainment industry is very good, because she get to entertain the viewer with interesting documentaris, a classical films and rarely they broadcast programs to "Salsa Rosa"

CÁDIZ

This summer, I went to Cádiz. My family lives there and I can't see them often. This summer I worked for the first time. Then, I decided to travel there with my first salari. Also, a friend of mine came with me.

First of all, I met my oncles at the airport. We visited Sevilla. Sevilla is a spectacular city such as Giralda's Cathedral, Plaza España, Triana and more others. After that, we go to Argodonales where my oncles lives.

I staied there for eight days in my oncles's house. Every day, we visited differents villages around our town. All this villages together called La Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos, because all houses are white.

A part from that, we could visited three of the most important cities in Andalucia. This cities were Sevilla, Cádiz and Málaga. People who live there are very extroverty. If I have got enough money, probably I'll travel there every summer.

As well as this, every night we go out with my cousin and his friends. There, the world of the night is more different than here.

From my point of view, Andalucia is very spectacular and I recomend to visit her cities. There, you can enjoy the beaches, typical fingerfood, his accent when speaking and specially Andalucia's good mood.

INFORMAL LETTER

Dear Andrea,

I was glad to hear from you.
I've been very busy too. I've lot of work in the office. I have to study and work very hard at school.

I have great news to tell you. Do you know what? My older brother is getting married next summer ans I'm so happy for that. Do you remember my friend Ann? She's found a new job at the library. It's part time job but it's fine for her.

As for my life I'm working a lot. I haven't got much spare time so I can't go to the gym as I used to do. Anyway, I hope I can take some vacations next Chtistmas.

WILLIAM KAMKWAMBA'S STORY

William kamkwamba's from Malawi. There, people are poor. Malawi has got 60 families and william's family are 20 persons more or less.

When he was young he dropped out school because his parents didn't have got enough money.
Then, William started to work in the fields. In Malawi, most of people depened on farming, specially they grow tobacco.

William built the first windmills in Malawi. This give  electricity in the houses.
After years, William went to California and there he visited the big wind farm.

In september 2008, William joined the inaugural class of the African leadership Academy in Johannesburg, the first pan-African preparatory school.

MYSELF

I'm Sònia Mesas. I'm 17 years old and now I'm studying 2n batxillerat.
I was born in figueres, but I live in Sant Miquel de fluvià. I have got one sister and her name is Raquel. She is ten years older than me. She's pedagoghe. Also, I have got twu cats and one dog.

In my free time I play football with my team in Sant Pere Pescador. Moreover, I like meeting my friends at the weekends. Sometimes, I go to the beach or other places and take photos with my camara. I love photography!

I referent to my dreams, my first dream is to pass batxillerat.
In my future, I would like to study photography and I get my own studyroom. ALso, I would like to travell arround the world and take photos. In this way, I can learn people the world, other cultures, etc. When I'm married I would like to have four children and we'll live in a big house.

ORAL PRESENTATION

INTOCABLE

A few months ago, in the cinema realised a new film. This film called “Inctocable”

This film talk about the life of disabled. Philippe is the main character and Driss is his caregiver. Philippe is disabled under neck. Driss looks for a job and he presents as caregiver of Philippe. Driss is contracted trial for one month. After the month trial, Driss contracted.

From that moment, Driss teaches to Philippe a new way of living. He gets Philippe feels happy, active and valued. They are like brothers. Driss has got a lot of problems with his family, but in the end of film he gets their happiness. The life’s Philippe changes completely. Now, he doesn’t live without Driss.

Finally, Philippe gets married and Driss starts a new life. This film is based on real events. I recommend to see this film because you can learn many lessons about the life and you can see the true friendship.

THE KING

One of the most important news this days is about our King. The king Don Juan Carlos travelled to Australia two months ago. There, he hunted elephants. This animal is in danger of extinction. Moreover, he takes photo with the elephant died and his friend. This photo has reached everywhere and people are disappointed. 

This new afect the world, overcoat in Spain, because the king is the highest authority and he didn't hunt this animal, because it's a bad action.

Sincerenly, this new don't afect me , because I don't matter the king because he is partly to blame with the situation exists in the world nowadays.

LESS SMOKE

Two years ago, the goverment banned smoke in the bars. More people left to smoke because they didn't smoke in the street, overcoat in winter. Now, many smokers complain about the law, because one year ago, also banned smoke in the parks or in front of school.

I think that is a law important, because more children doesn't breathe smoke snuff. The goverment is thinking if it could smoke in the bars again.

This law don't afect me , because if I want to smoke, I smoke in the street without problem.

THE CRISIS

Nowadays, our economy is below our needs. A lot of people don't have enough money for eating or live well, because they don't work and the goverment doesn't give money.

This factor affect us all because they can't live with good conditions.
The solution to this problem would be to invest in things that are really necesary. The politics doesn't understand it.

The crisis afect me more or less, because this summer I should work, but the problem is that there isn't work. I think that the politicals doesn't know how to work.

5 WISHES FOR 2012

My 5 wishes for this 2012 are very simple. First, I could ask for good health for my family, because I love my family. Then, I would ask to fet good marks in Batxillerat because if I get a good marks in Batxillerat, I will sutdy a career.

Third, I would ask to have a lot of money as if I have a lot of money, I will go to abroad, buy all things that I want and others. I would ask not to have any examns and homework to because if I haven't got any exams and homework, I will be doing what I want everytime, but now if I did this, I wouldn't find work in the future.

Finally, I would ask to ask wishes always, if I could do this, I would be absolutely goo because if I have a problem, I'd ask a wish for resolve this and be well.
I want all of these wishes to be real but only one of them can be real if I make on effert. I predict that if I study a lot I will be a fotograph for exemple. I hope having my owm photography studio in the future. It could be a other wish but not in 2012

THE END

Nine months ago, I arrived in this High School. I was new and I didn't know any of my classmates or my teachers either. I felt a bit lost, but my new friends helped me a lot.

Now, I have been studying here for nine months and I have met a lot of people. My teachers are good, but I don't like some of them. A part from that, I have met people from differents grades. I feel as if I have been here  longer than it's.

The 1st batxillerat is almost over. Then, we will prepare for next year. the 2nd Batxillerat will be more difficult and I will have to study harder. I expect to enjoy in summer, going to parties with my friends, travelling a lot, because we be very busy next year.


I think that my new classmates are wonderful. I don't regret to have chosen this High School. I hope that next course it will be funnier and I hope to pass all the subjects.

MY FAMILY

I'm going to talk about my family.

My father is name is Josep Maria. He was born in Sant Miquel de Fluvià. He is 54 years old. he has got one sister, her name is Manoli. My father works as a plumber. He is very shy, he doesn't like to speak in public. He likes playing football and hunting with his dog. He is a serios man, polite as well. But he loves laughing and having fun.

My mother's name is Pepi. She was born in Añora, Andalucia. she is 53 years old. She has got one sister and one brother. They are Amparo and Bartolomen. She works as a cleaner in a camping. She is very funny and she always makes people laugh. She likes going out with her friends. She is the best monther in the world.



Finally, my sister is name is Raquel. She was born in Figueres as me. She is 26 years old. She doesn't work now. Last year, she graduated in Pedagogy. Last summer, she got married with her boyfriend Andreu. I hope that she has a baby soon. I want to be an auntie.

INFORMAL LETTER

Dear Sarah;
I'm so glad to know you are doing well in Canada. I was really surprised when I recived your letter. I've tired to ring you a few time but I couldn't get in touch with you.

Anyway, I'm wondering if you will go to Spain in summer as you always do. This year, I will not go to Madrid as I'm taking on english course during the months of July and August. I think it will be a bit complicated but I'll try to fly to Madrid at the begining of Semptember, just for a few days. It would be great if we could meet for dinner one night.

By the way, I saw your cousin Petter in Paris by chance. I was visiting the Louvre museum when I realised he was standying beside me.

Well, I must go now. I'll give you a ring as soon as I can. I hope we can meet eachother during summer.

CAESAR SALAD

2 large heads of lettuce
1 garlic clove
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
6 or 8 anchovies
2 boiled eggs
1/2 cups garlic croutons

1. Cut the lettuce into bite-sized pieces
2. Put the garlic and oil in jar. Cover and shake well.
3. Put the lettuce in a large salad bowl and the rest of the ingredients into individual bowls.
4. Grind the pepper over the lettuce leaves with a pepper mill.
5. Pour the oil on the lettuce leaves and mix well.
6. Sprinkle some salt.
7. Add the lemon, Parmesan cheese, anchovy fillets.
8. If you are using boild eggs break them into the salad.
9. Add the croutons, toss and serve. 

DALÍ MUSEUM AND DOLCE VITA

The museum is situated in the center of the city of Figueres. It's easy to find it because the building is big with red walls and yellow breads on the wall. On the top of the building there are some enormus eggs and human figures. It's easy to reach if you go on food, by bus or by car. Moreover, you can find parking in the same street.

 It's opened every day from 10am to 8pm, except Mondays. It's opened all year round. You can also see some sculptures and some of his personal objects. There is one thing which most people get surprised when they see it amb that's his tomb. The place where be was buried after his death.

 The prices of the tickets are not cheap. The adult entrance cost 25€ and the children entrance is 15€. One thing that you have to have in mind is that there's always a long queu to get in. so, if you want to go there, try to arrive early in the morning.

The restaurant Dolce Vita isn't for from the museum. It's just down the street on the right side. You can miss it! 

In the restaurant you can eat differents types pitzzes and pasta. If there is somebody vegetarian it's not a problem because there are salads with very healthy ingredients. The desserts are delicious. In my opinion the best ones are Italian icecream and cheese cake.

 The restaurant is small, there are only ten tables and the waiters are very friendly. This restaurant opens only from Friday to Sunday and from midday to midnight.

AN OPINION ESSAY

I disagree with the statement, because I think that a lot of people don't respect environment. Nowadays, we haven't learnt to respect our world, because every day there is a lot of pollution.

It seems to me that the goverment hasn't done enough for this problem. We should be more responsables with our planet and we should recycle seriosly and we should do this actions: throw away the rubbish in the bin, we go to places by bike or walking, avoid to smoke, because it contaminate.

However, I think that we do somethings good and maybe the pollution don't improve but other things disapperar. But we should achieve more goals in the future. In this way, the planet can be saved.

From my point of view, the planet has got a lot of pollution. We must follow the rules to save the world. I hope that we could save the planet and we could live better.

AMAIA SALAMANCA

Amaia Salamanca was born the 28th of march. She is a very important and famous actress. She became famous when she appeared as a main character in the TV serie called "Sin tetas no hay paraiso". she also plays a role in others TV series. also, she plays a role in the world of cinema.

Amaia has got usually blonde hair and she has got blue eyes. her eyes highlight, because she's dark-skinned. She is medium height and she has got an amazing body. I think that she is one of the more beatiful actress and sexy in the world. Amaia is very good doing her job

Amaia is very friendly with her friends and she loves a lot her family. She's loyal, nice and respectful with the other people. She never avoid her funs and she is very sociable with them.

In my opinion, I think that she is a very good actress. She's one of my favorites actress. I always have thought that she is going to have an important job inthe world of cinema.

FILM REVIEW

Now, I would like to give mu opinion about the film called Pretty Woman. Pretty Woman is a romantic comedy. His main characters are Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. Directed by Garry Marshall in 1990 and it was a huge box office succes.

The film is about a prostitute and a merchant. They met in the street while Julia was working and Robert was driving. Then, Julia went to Robert's hotel with him. Next day, he said Julia that he would like to she stay with him all week and she accepted. He taught to her to be a polite formal woman and also, improve her behavoir. In this moments the money doesn't matter. Over time, they fell in love and she left her job.



I think this film os one of the most important films in the cinema story. I recomend see this movie, because you can learn more things in the world of love and money. I love this movie since I was younger.

MORE PARTY

On 29th February, near cinemas of Figueras, it opened a new nightclub for teenagers. The owner of the club opened this pub with looking forward. Still some people don't know if it's for people for sixteen, eighteen or twenty one years old.

I guess that the teenagers are very fun, because they can go to the party in a new place, people and music. Now, they should help tp owner, they ought to avoid fights or cause problems.Thus, the business's owner doesn't run any risk

This notice don't affect me, because this places I dislike much. But I guess that if I go to this pub, I enjoy the night a lot.

THE TEENAGERS

In the last January, a teenager stabbed one of his classmate in the locker room. This boys arguing during days because one of them laughted at the other. Then, the teenager decide to stab his classmater for he stop laughing at him.

This behavior affects the teenager's world. Nowadays, the stabber will have few friends and he'll repent for his acts.

If I were he, probably I prefer to talk with my classmate, but I never had stabbed, because I could kill him.

Nowadays, the teenagers often use violence. I think that they would have to learn to save problems by talking between they.

ONE ABANDON MORE

The last January in Sant Pere Pescador abandon a child. The child was ten days old. He still has got a umbilical cord. A woman found the child next to the bins in a big car park. the police and ambulance went to this place very fast and the life's child save.

This situation affects the world so that people think there are people in the world with little respect for children. I think that people must be very brave to abandon a child, because a child is one of the most important things that we can get.

The abandonment affect me a lot, because I hate this situations. The people who are able to abandon a child, for me they aren't people.

"CARNAVAL"

When, these days of February arrive here we celebrate "Carnaval". Carnaval is a tradition that people celebrate for years ago. More or less Carnaval lasts one month. Every weekend of February or March the different towns near here celebrate his Carnaval.

This year, I have disguised Olympics with my friends. My best friend Cristina and I dressed up as boxers and other friends of different sports. We built a float, because it represents clearest our costume. We enjoy the Carnaval increasingly, because we drink and dance a lot and we are together all night.

We went to different Carnavals. For example: the first week, we went to our town, Sant Pere. There, we walk with the float in the town and after we went to Sant Pere's party. In the second week, we went to Empuriabrava and Castelló. There we did the same in Sant Pere, but the place and people were different. But this doesn't matter.

I think that the Carnaval is a spectacular, because you disguise with your friends and you enjoy the night in a different way from usual.

ONE OF MY DREAMS

When we were children, we dreamt that when I will be older, we would like to be firefighter, schoolteacher, doctor, model and others. But, when we mature our dreams mature with us. Now, I am not a model or teacher. Now, my dreams are getting important goals.

A part from healthy, family and friends, they are the most important of my life, but now I would like to fulfill a different dream. When I was younger, I always played with Almudena. Almudena was my best friend from childhood. we were together all day. One day, when I was five years old and she was six years old, she moved to Andalucia. Since that day I haven't know about her life.


Nowadays, I haven't seen her twelve years ago. Therefore, now my dream is to hug Almudena again. I would like to talk her again and remember our childhood, because the most recent memory I have of her is a simple photograph.

MY NEW YEAR

On the 31st december, we celebrate that one year finishes a new one starts. In spain is a tradiction celebrate the new year's eating twelve grapes at widday. Before we have the grapes people have dinner with their family and friends and they usually go to the town's party or the disco.

This year, it was very spectacular. My friends and I went to have dinner at Cristina's house. There, we sang "singstar", we danced a lot and we remembered the moments that we spend together.

after we ate the grapesm we hunged a lot and we cried a few. Then, we continued with the party. Later, in Sant Pere's center we organized a discomobil. There, we met lots of our friends and kissed each other to wish a happy year.

I think that when this day arrives we feel more sensitive because we remember a lot of special moments. we think with a lot of people who are important for us.

A SHORT STORY

I NEVER REALISED HOW IMPORTANT FRIENDS COULD BE

I was just about to get on the bus when somebody called my name. Just then I turned around to my surprise I realised that the person who was in front of me was my best friend from childhood. I was delighted to see her again after such a long time. We decided to go for a coffee in a café nearby. I was surprise to know she had got married and now she was pregnant. She had always told me (that) she hated children and she wouldn't ever get married.

I was getting tired of her story so I got up and I went to pay. No sooner had I paid than someone called my name again. To my horror it was my old teacher from school. Although I wanted to disappear I had to stay there for two hours. Luckly my friend Tom saw me and he noticed how bad I was feeling. Her came to rescue me. It was the worst day I had ever had.

However, that day I understood how important friend could be in our life. Without his help I would have to stay there all that afternoon.

Review article: ALCOHOL AND TEENAGERS

I think that, nowdays teenagers consume alcohol earlier than before. Most of them think that this behaviour makes them older, but it is false.

I agree they consume alcoholic drinks but they must be responsible of their acts. When they go to a party, they think that if they drink alcohol, they will have more fun, but it is not always true. Sometimes we have fun without drinking.

A part from that, they must be responsible of their acts when they have to drive. They shouldn't drink when they have to drive in order to avoid accidents. A solution could be that every night they want to drink alcohol, one of them don't drink any. Probably, they won't have an accident and the next time someone else would do the same.

I think that teenagers can drink alcohol if they are conscious of their acts and don't get hurt.

I am writing this letter because there are a few things that I would like to change in our town.

First of all, I think that the streets and the roads are very dirty. They should be cleaned every week. Moreover, the most of the parks in our town are full of rubbish and children can not play properly. Secondly, we need a library in our town, because there are lots of children and teenagers who need to study and they want a quiet place where they can do it. Thirdly, I think that adults and ancient people would be very pleased if there was a swimming pool in our village. Last but not less important I think that there should be more buses, specially at night.
